Inspector   General of Police, Jammu Zone Jammu (IGP) Shri. Mukesh Singh-IPS reviewed the crime position and over-all functioning of District Kishtwar and Doda with concerned District SSsP all SDPOs and SHOs respectively. The disposal of cases registered during the current year and previous pendency was reviewed, discussed and instructions issued.  

       IGP Jammu Zone Sh. Mukesh Singh- was received by DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range Mr. Bhim Sen Tuti-IPS and his team of officers and was given a guard of honour at Kishtwar , on his arrival.

          Later, a thread bare discussion was held in a meeting regarding disposal of pending crime cases especially cases of sensational crime.While elaborating, it was mentioned that maintenance of law & order, prevention of crime, speedy investigation and disposal of cases, adequate attention to public grievances on day-to-day basis, special attention to public importance cases, strengthening Police-Public rapport are of utmost importance. The steps taken on counter insurgency front for a better security and law and order scenario were also discussed at Kishtwar last night. 

Mr. Mukesh Singh-IPS   reviewed the crime, anti militancy operation, general security scenario of Doda District at Dak Bungalow   Bhaderwah today and discussed necessary steps to be taken to control the crime rate. The main focus of the meeting was to improve the quality of investigation of accident cases, Motor vehicle theft, burglary, NDPS Act and other cases. Besides, missing persons, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders and action taken under preventive measures were also   reviewed.

           IGP while briefing the officers advised them for finalization of the pending cases/public complaints to give the relief to the general public and directed I/Os for speedy disposal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation. He asked the officers to strengthen the CI grid and to stimulate the basic functioning of Police by way of effective supervision over the function of Police Stations. The investigations officers who have performed outstandingly investigation work were awarded with Commendation Certificates alongwith suitable cash reward on spot. The district SSPs were given directions to organize special training for I.O s for updating with new laws. The Investigation officers were also directed for follow-up parvy of their cases charge sheeted in the court of law for early conviction.

The participating police officers briefed the IGP about the available inputs and their assessment over the security and law and order situation in their districts. They briefed him about the arrangements they have made for enhancing the security , law and order arrangements.

The SSP Kishtwar Dr.Harmeet Singh and SSP Doda  Shri Mumtaz Ahmed gave an elaborate Power Point Presentation on the prevalent security scenario of their districts and over all position of the crime and its disposal.
